At World Learning and SIT, we are committed to the belief that human connections and education are some of the most effective and powerful ways to address our world’s most complex issues.
Through experiential learning, cultural immersion, and intercultural understanding, our programs create a global network of learners who are empowered to cultivate new relationships, understand other cultures, and strive to make extraordinary change in their communities and in the world.
In a world marked by rising conflicts and persistent challenges, the best hope for peace, justice, and sustainability lies in bringing people together. At World Learning, School for International Training, and The Experiment in International Living, we remain dedicated to this mission.
The past year saw the launch of a national initiative aimed at bringing U.S. colleges and universities more deeply into the refugee resettlement process. Supporting Higher Education in Refugee Resettlement (SHERR) is an exciting extension of our decades-long commitment to supporting refugees.
Across World Learning’s programs, participants from around the globe logged community service hours, fostered civic engagement efforts, contributed their expertise to disability rights and accessibility efforts, integrated social and emotional learning and DEIA practices into their teaching, combatted disinformation, and more.
Through SIT, students and alumni tackled issues of climate change and water equity, built access to identity-affirming resources, fostered diplomatic processes, and pursued impactful research projects and career paths that drew upon their experiential learning.
Through The Experiment, students embraced transformative journeys that not only taught invaluable skills but challenged their worldviews. Thanks to scholarship support from donors, we were able to increase access to the program, which provided greater enrichment for all participants.
This report shows how, throughout this past year, our participants, students, alumni, and partners have exemplified the extraordinary possibilities of our mission.
Thank you for your participation and support as we continue to build a more sustainable, peaceful, and just world together.
