The principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access are reflected in our core values: intercultural understanding, community, social inclusion and justice, and sustainability. These values inform who we are and how we work to foster greater understanding between people of diverse backgrounds.
Last year, World Learning and SIT created a comprehensive framework for diversity, equity, inclusion, and access to ensure that DEIA+ principles are embedded in our operations and in our programs.
The areas of the framework are People, Culture, Capacity, and Programs.
Starting with a focus on our people and organizational culture, World Learning conducted a survey to better understand the employee experience and learn how we can continue to strengthen belonging and inclusion across our global organization.
Additionally, our DEIA+ Committee organized several DEIA+ Community Hours on themes ranging from diversity of faith, autism acceptance, mental health, Pride, Black History Month, artificial intelligence, and accessibility. These hours have created a foundation for programming and become a dedicated place for employees to connect, collaborate, and learn.
Visit the World Learning website to learn how DEIA+ is implemented across World Learning, School for International Training, and The Experiment in International Living.
